A model for a Balanced & Sustainable Community
The Lebanon Solid Waste Facility faced several critical challenges related to methane emissions, energy independence, and operational costs. The landfill generated large amounts of methane and the city saw an opportunity to utilize this gas to reduce its environmental impact.
The City of Lebanon, New Hampshire, saw potential to decrease its reliance on external power grids, enhance energy security for municipal operations, and lower its high energy costs for residents. They also saw the potential to generate revenue by selling surplus electricity back to the grid.
This installation includes a Capstone C1000S (1MW) microturbine, one Vergent microturbine controller, a gas conditioning skid and integration with existing solar panels for the facility.
