A long-time Capstone customer since 2010, Janesville is leveraging proven microturbine reliability to modernize its wastewater energy infrastructure. Secured by Veristar Energy, the follow-on order includes two C65 units commissioned in April 2025 and a C200 microturbine commissioned in November 2024, bringing total onsite capacity to 460 kW. The CHP system runs on digester gas and captures waste heat to support anaerobic digesters.

Veristar Energy secured an order for two Capstone C65 ICHP microturbines and a Veristar controller for the City of Winona’s wastewater treatment plant in Minnesota. Backed by the federal Investment Tax Credit and a DOE grant, the city covered over 90% of project costs while doubling renewable energy output.

Capstone announced the sale of four C65 microturbines for Black River Memorial Hospital, enabling a CHP system with integrated heat recovery modules to offset hot water boiler load. Secured by Veristar Energy and expected to be commissioned by May 2025, the project improves resiliency, affordability, and sustainability, while leveraging ITC incentives to reduce upfront costs.
